People United presents coverage of "State of Denial: Where Marriage Equality Stands in Texas," a panel inspired by a photographic essay from the July 2014 Texas Observer about same-sex couples legally married outside the state but living here. The panelists include the original article's author, Jo Ann Santangelo, and one of her featured couples, Cleopatra De Leon and Nicole Dimetman, married with a child and challenging Texas's same-sex marriage ban in federal court.
