KOOP Radio presents a special benefit screening of the documentary END OF THE CENTURY: THE STORY OF THE RAMONES in honor of Joey Ramone’s birthday. The show will take place at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar at 7pm on Sunday, May 19th.

Before the film, KOOP will also present live DJ sets, a silent auction benefiting KOOP radio and other activities at The Highball (adjacent to Alamo South Lamar) from 5-6:30pm.

Proceeds from this benefit will go to supporting KOOP radio, Austin’s only true community radio station.

ABOUT THE FILM
Directed by Jim Fields and Michael Gramaglia, END OF THE CENTURY tracks the career of The Ramones, the band who changed the course of popular music with theier bare-bones, no nonsense, stripped-down form of Rock N Roll. Featuring interviews with all band members, as well as many others closely associated the with group, the documentary tracks the career of The Ramones from their early days as societal outcasts, through their rise to fame, detailing along the way the many conflicts and personal struggles of the band members.
