People United remembers Leslie Cochran (1951-2012), a crossdressing street icon in Austin, Texas, from 1996 until his death, with coverage of a plaque being unveiled at the Nook Amphitheater in downtown Austin on what would have been his sixty-fourth birthday in 2015, Abigail Mahnke's 2007 interview with the local legend, and a conversation with Debbie Russell, a surviving friend as well as the Executive Director of the Pecan Street Association.
